The role of ETMA

The European Tube Manufacturers Association holds different roles. The association represents first theEuropean tube industry to third parties.

It provides also to its members the packaging market information and the statistics that they need, like carrying out of productivity studies that serve as a benchmarking tool, packaging and raw material market information, food contact and environmental legislation, and all the information about the creation of European collapsible tube standards.

ETMA has also a public relations role. It launches press releases on the situation of the market and all the innovations. Then, in addition to cooperating with other packaging and flexible tube associations like US Tube Council, this structure publishes the newsletter Tubes&Trends.

The tube the year!

ETMA holds the annual Tube of the Year competition called “The tube of the year”, in order to honour all the achievements in the aluminium tube industry, used for example in the manufacturing of any cosmetic tube.

During this event, ETMA invites its members to present their last innovations in tube manufacturing. Each participant should register in one of these four categories: aluminium tubes, plastic tubes, laminate tubes and prototypes. Then the judges evaluate each product on the basis of different criteria: the design, the used marketing process, and its environmental and technical aspects.
